Changes to QEC Board of Directors

IQALUIT, Nunavut (June 24, 2016) – Honourable George Hickes, Minister responsible for Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) today announced the resignation of chairperson Julie- Anne Miller from QEC’s Board of Directors effective June 20, 2016.

Mr. Elijah Evaluarjuk has been appointed interim chairperson effective June 20, 2016. Mr. Evaluarjuk of Igloolik has served on the Board since January 2014, and as vice-chair since February 2015. He brings extensive experience in corporate management in Nunavut, and is also a Board member of the Baffin Business Development Corporation and Nunavut Business Credit Corporation.

In addition, Ronnie Campbell has been newly appointed to the Board of Directors, effective June 20, 2016 for a three year term. A previous resident of Nunavut, Mr. Campbell brings significant public sector expertise and a deep understanding of Northern issues. Mr. Campbell served as the Assistant Auditor General of Canada from 2003 to 2015 working across the three territories and with federal agencies such as Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada.
