Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Kugaaruk that there will be planned power outages in the community on Saturday, November 24 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (affected area highlighted in yellow on the map below) and on Sunday, November 25 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (affected area highlighted in orange on the map below).
These power outages are required to perform repairs and maintenance to the distribution system to improve reliability. Brief power outages occurred last weekend as a result of an unexpected issue with one of the generators. Temporary repairs have been made to ensure the power demands of the community can be met until the required parts arrive to complete the repairs.
QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
