Qulliq Energy Corporation
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is entrusted to provide safe, reliable power to all customers in Nunavut. Owned by the Government of Nunavut and operated as an arms-length territorial corporation, QEC is the sole provider of electricity and district heating in Nunavut. In comparison to other utilities in Canada, QEC faces unique challenges as it operates 25 stand-alone diesel power generation facilities and distribution systems located in each of the territory’s communities.
QEC-19-041 Stock Keeper
(This competition is restricted to Nunavut Inuit applicants only)
Based out of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, Kitikmeot Region, the Stock Keeper maintains and controls an inventory of components and materials required for the Corporation’s operations in the Kitikmeot Region. Key responsibilities of the position include ordering, shipping, tracking and receiving parts and materials to ensure adequate inventory levels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with the Supply Chain Manager to maintain the supply, storage and distribution of parts and materials for the region.
- Maintains an accurate count of material held in inventory and all expensed items; ordering, receiving and issuing inventory usage forms as required.
- Conducts and reports on quarterly inventory counts.
- Issues expensed items out of warehouse or holding areas to specified users and maintains adequate supply of all expensed items on hand through cycle counts.
- Prepares freight waybills and dangerous goods shipping documents.
- Maintains accurate records of orders and receivables, including proper coding and authorization verification in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Collaborates with the Maintenance team to identify and properly dispose of obsolete parts and materials.
- Partners with the Supply Chain Manager, Procurement Coordinator and other purchasing clerks to coordinate annual sealift ordering within the Region.
Required Qualifications Include:
- High school diploma.
- Two years’ of experience in the operation of a moderate sized stores facility.
- Valid Class 5 drivers’ license and satisfactory drivers abstract.
Assets:
- A related Provincial Trades Certification as a Parts Technician – Materials Technician.
- Enrollment in or completion of a Supply Chain Management program.
- Knowledge of Nunavut, the land, language and culture.
- The ability to communicate in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun and/or French.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $69,742 to $78,603 a northern living allowance of $19,716 per annum, eligibility for overtime, a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit and pension program, along with subsidized staff housing. This position is included in the Nunavut Employees Union.
