Current Summer Student Positions
HR Assistant – Baker Lake
Reporting to the Training and Development Specialist, the selected student will help with administrative tasks in the HR function, focusing on organizing and maintaining files. You need: strong dependability and reliability, ability to handle confidential information, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word and Excel.
Communications Assistant – Iqaluit
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, the selected student will help with social media and community engagement, event planning, and news tracking all while helping to create a collaborative work environment. You need; knowledge of social media and good writing skills. Knowledge of graphic design is beneficial but not required.
Health, Safety & Environment Assistant – Iqaluit
Reporting to the Manager, health, Safety and Environment, the selected student will help with administrative tasks such as data entry, inventory management, and other tasks as needed. You need: good computer skills and knowledge of safety. Knowledge of environmental laws is beneficial but not required.
Policy Assistant – Iqaluit
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Planning, the selected student will support policy research and development, help track and organize internal reports, and contribute to special projects—all while helping to create a collaborative work environment. You need: strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in policy or public administration. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and clear writing skills are beneficial but not required.
Information Technology Assistant – Iqaluit & Baker Lake
Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the selected student will assist with supporting personal computers, printers, and other tech-related tasks. This includes troubleshooting computer and printer problems, installing software on computers, and helping with IT tickets under the guidance of staff. You need: knowledge of computers and software like Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat Reader and willingness to learn and help with various IT tasks.
Administration Assistant – Iqaluit
Reporting to the Executive Assistant, the selected summer student will help with administrative tasks focusing on organizing and maintaining files. You need: strong dependability and reliability, ability to handle confidential information, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word and Excel.
Trades Helper – Iqaluit
Reporting to the Line Maintenance Supervisor, the selected summer student will assist Powerline Technicians with tasks like organizing materials, cleaning work sites, and helping with other tasks as needed. You need: ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs, focus on working safely, willingness to follow all rules and procedures, and a valid class 5 driver’s license.
General Labourer – Arviat, Baker Lake, Cambridge Bay, Chesterfield Inlet, Coral Harbour, Gjoa Haven, Kuugaruk, Kugluktuk, Naujaat, Rankin Inlet, Sanirajak, Taloyoak and Whale Cove
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the selected student will help with daily tasks like meter reading, performing maintenance, and organizing the power plants. You need: ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs, focus on working safely, and willingness to follow all rules and procedures.
