Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Iqaluit that there will be two planned power outages on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
The first outage is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m and will affect customers in the Plateau, Sivumugiaq Street (Federal Road), Four Corners, Airport, North 40 and West 40 areas, as highlighted in yellow on Map 1 below.
The second outage is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and will affect customers in the Baffin Correctional Centre, Airport and Softball Diamond area, as highlighted in yellow on Map 2 below.
These planned outages are required to safely replace a set of switches, as well as perform a pole installation for the new City of Iqaluit Operations Centre.
