Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Arctic Bay that there will be planned power outages in the community on Sunday, July 22 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
The first planned power outage will affect a section of the community from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (highlighted in yellow on the attached map below).
The second planned power outage will affect a section of the community from 10 a.m. to 12 noon (highlighted in orange on the attached map below).
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Iqaluit that there will be a planned power outage in a section of the community on Sunday, July 22 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The affected area is highlighted in yellow on the map below.
The area highlighted in orange will experience a brief 10 to 15 minute power outage at the beginning and at the end of the planned power outage.
This outage is required to perform repairs and maintenance to the distribution system to improve reliability.
The planned power outage on Saturday, July 21 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. will affect a section of the community (highlighted in red on the attached map below).
A planned power outage on Sunday, July 22 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. will affect the entire community. A second planned power outage from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. will affect a section of the community (highlighted in blue on the attached map below).
These power outages are required to perform repairs and maintenance to the distribution system to improve reliability.
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform Nunavummiut that QEC’s upgrades and maintenance season has begun.
Customers will be informed in advance of planned power outages through the radio, social media, and email.
QEC makes repairs to damaged power lines and poles and performs upgrades and maintenance to the electrical system during warmer weather conditions. This work is required to ensure that customers have a safe and reliable power supply. Every attempt will be made to schedule maintenance work outside of regular business hours.

QEC is a territorial corporation of the Government of Nunavut. The corporation is responsible for the generation and distribution of electricity in the territory.
