Manager, Protection, Control and Metering (Re-advertisement)

Based out of Iqaluit, Nunavut and reporting to the Director, Operations, this position is accountable for the planning, management, provision of all protection & control, automation and metering services for the Corporation. The position will act as the operations lead on protection, control and metering activities and ensures all work performed by the section meets all applicable codes and standards.

Manager, Production

Based out of Iqaluit, Nunavut and reporting to the Director, Operations, this position is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operation of twenty five (25) diesel-generating plants across Nunavut. This position will work closely with the Operations Supervisors across the territory to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency in each plant. This role contributes to the delivery of safe and reliable electricity to QEC customers, while continuously promoting industry best practices.

Production Supervisor – Kivalliq Region

Based out of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut and reporting to the Manager, Production, the position oversees the coordination of the day-to-day operation of the satellite diesel generating plants with respect to the production and distribution of energy in the Kivalliq region. This involves working closely with the Plant Superintendents and Assistant Operators to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency in each generating station, while ensuring that plants within the Kivalliq region adhere to all health, safety and environmental legislation, policies, and regulations.

Planned Power Outages in Resolute Bay

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the community of Resolute Bay that there will be planned power outages on Saturday, June 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (affected area highlighted in yellow on map below) and Sunday, June 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (affected area circled in red on map below).

This outage is required to perform upgrades and maintenance to the distribution system.

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Based out of Grise Fiord, Nunavut and reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for operating and monitoring the diesel powerhouses and associated systems to provide safe, reliable electrical service to Qulliq Energy customers in the community in a cost effective manner. (24 hours per week)

QEC invites the community of Grise Fiord to celebrate the official opening of new power plant

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) invites the residents of Grise Fiord to celebrate the community’s new power plant on Friday, June 7.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the new power plant at 1:00 p.m. A community feast will follow at the local gym from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

QEC completed the construction of the new power plant in December 2018 and would like to thank the community for their continued support.
