Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Baker Lake that there will be a planned power outage on Saturday, November 4th from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.

This outage is required for work to install a new generator set.

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Pangnirtung that the planned power outage for Wednesday, November 1 has been postponed to Saturday, November 4 from 12:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.

This outage is required to perform a preventative maintenance inspection of the new power plant system.

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.

Planning ahead for unplanned power outage during the winter season

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is committed to providing Nunavummiut with safe and reliable power. However, bad weather can sometimes interrupt the power supply to customers causing unplanned outages.

In the event of a power outage, customers are asked to call QEC’s 24 hour emergency line at 1-867-222-3807 to report the outage.

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Kugaaruk that there will be an emergency power outage in a section of the community on Friday, October 27 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The affected area is highlighted on the attached map.

This outage is required to install a new transformer and perform upgrades to the distribution system.
