Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) has received interim ministerial approval to implement the Independent Power Producer (IPP) program and will initially be accepting applications for the technical feasibility studies for the IPP program, subject to the following conditions:

Planned Power Outage in Rankin Inlet

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Rankin Inlet that there will be a planned, community-wide power outage on Sunday, August 28, from 6 to 10 a.m.

This outage is required to safely make repairs and upgrades to a section of the distribution system. This work is expected to significantly improve reliability for the community.

Planned Power Outage in Arctic Bay

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Arctic Bay that there will be a planned, community-wide power outage Saturday, August 27 at 11 p.m. until Sunday, August 28 at 3 a.m.

This power outage is required to safely replace recalled equipment on the distribution system.

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Resolute Bay that there will be planned power outages on Saturday, August 27, and Sunday, August 28, from 7 to 11 a.m., and Monday, August 29, from 6 a.m. to 12 noon. The affected area is highlighted in yellow on the map below.

These outages are required to safely make repairs and upgrades to a section of the distribution system. This work is expected to significantly improve reliability for the community.
