Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Iqaluit that there will be a planned power outage on Tuesday, October 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. The affected area is highlighted in yellow on the map below.
This power outage is required to safely connect the new Navigator Inn hotel located near the Qikiqtani General Hospital.

Possible Planned Power Outages in Sanirajak
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the community of Sanirajak that planned power outages may occur from October 8 to 12 while crews work to complete repairs on the power plant and distribution systems.
Since Tuesday, October 6, QEC staff have been working locally and remotely to restore power to customers in the community. Weather conditions prevented Iqaluit based maintenance and line crews from travelling to help with restoration efforts.
Planned Power Outage in Cambridge Bay
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Cambridge Bay that there will be planned power outages on Saturday, October 10, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, and Sunday, October 11, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The affected areas are highlighted in yellow on the map below.
These power outages are required to begin safely connecting the new Aurora College building to the distribution system.

Qulliq Energy Corporation applies for fuel rider refund
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) has applied to refund customers a fuel rider of 1.25 cents per kilowatt hour for the period of October 1 to March 31, 2021. The application was submitted to the Minister responsible for QEC, who will seek recommendations from the territory’s Utility Rates Review Council.
A fuel rider is an additional charge or refund on customer bills that is intended to reflect the difference between the fuel prices reflected in the electricity rates and the actual cost of fuel paid by QEC.

Qulliq Energy Corporation offers paperless billing
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is now offering a paperless billing option that allows customers to receive their monthly electricity bills by email.
To sign-up, please email Customer Care at customercare@qec.nu.ca with your account number and email address. Beginning in November, your electricity bill will go directly to your inbox.
QEC thanks those customers who volunteered to test paperless billing during the trial period. They provided valuable feedback during the development of the program.
Planned Power Outage in Naujaat
